New Delhi. The world's most popular messaging platform (WhatsApp) has released an update for its millions of users which was awaited for a long time. Now users will not need to download a separate WhatsApp Desktop application to make audio and video calls on a computer or laptop. Under the new facility, calling can be done easily just by opening WhatsApp Web in the browser. After this update, WhatsApp Web has become more powerful and convenient than before.
Till now, if a user wanted to make an audio or video call from a computer with a friend, relative or office team, he had to first install the desktop app. This additional process was time-consuming and inconvenient for many users. Now, eliminating this problem, the company has provided the facility of calling directly through the web browser. This will greatly benefit professionals working in offices, students and people who use computers regularly.
The calling facility available on WhatsApp Web will be completely secure because end to end encryption has also been used in it. This means that your conversation will be limited to only those involved in the call and no third person will be able to hear it. The company has tried to maintain a balance of convenience with security so that users can make calls without any worries.
With this update, not only calling but many new features have also been added which will make the user experience better than before. Now with the facility of screen sharing, online meetings, studies, presentations and providing technical support will become easier than before. Apart from this, options like call history and favorites have also been included in the web version, which will make it very easy to access important contacts and old calls.
WhatsApp has also introduced call transfer feature. If a user is having a video call on his phone and wants to continue it on the big screen, then now the call can be easily transferred from mobile to tablet computer or web version. With this, despite changing the device, the call will continue without any interruption and the user will get a better experience.

A waiting room feature has also been added to make group calling more streamlined. Now call link can be created for group call. Participants who click on the link will first be taken to a virtual waiting room and will be able to join the call only after getting permission from the group administrator. This feature will strengthen both security and control during online meetings, webinars and large group discussions.
Apart from this, the company has also supported fast HD video calling, due to which the video quality will be better than before and the conversation will appear more clear. Especially the users using high speed internet will get huge benefit from it. This new update of WhatsApp clearly indicates that the company does not want to limit its web platform to just chatting but is developing it as a complete communication platform. More such features are likely to be added in the coming time that will make WhatsApp Web more useful for both professional and personal use.
