Consequently, the price in Delhi stands at ₹102.12 per litre for petrol and ₹95.20 per litre for diesel. Similarly, in Mumbai, petrol and diesel prices are ₹111.21 and ₹97.83 per litre, respectively. Amidst ongoing diplomatic talks between the US and Iran and hopes for the restoration of safe shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, crude oil prices have remained below their peak levels (of $100.69 per barrel) seen last week.

Today, July 30, the price of Brent crude in the international market is hovering between $91.80 and $92.50 per barrel. This drop in oil prices raises hopes that fuel could become cheaper for consumers in August. Since India relies heavily on crude oil imports for petrol and diesel, global crude prices directly impact domestic fuel rates. However, other factors—such as rising demand, government taxes, rupee-dollar exchange rate fluctuations, and refinery-related margins—will also influence domestic fuel prices.

On the other hand, the most expensive petrol in the country is sold in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where the price is approximately ₹117.78 per litre. VAT rates in these regions range between 31% and 35%.
