A couple who left IT job and became content creators has given details of their earnings. Against his total IT salary of Rs 35 lakh, he earned Rs 1.09 crore from content creation in 2025.

A couple, who left their IT jobs with salaries worth lakhs and took up full-time content creation, have revealed such details of their earnings that social media users are surprised to see. Muskaan Mittal and Ashish Gupta, who have been tech professionals, have shared an Instagram video comparing their old salary and today's earnings, which has now gone viral.

Started with Vietnam trip

This couple's journey of content creation started with a video of their Vietnam trip. When he posted this video on social media, it got more than 20,000 views. Currently, he mainly creates travel videos, but also shares content on topics like relationships and health. His followers often asked him about his lifestyle and earnings. In response to these questions, both of them posted this video giving complete details of their income.

IT salary vs content earnings

Before getting into content creation, Ashish was a data analyst and his annual in-hand salary was Rs 12 lakh. Meanwhile, Muskan was a software developer and earned Rs 23 lakh per year. The duo started making videos part-time in May 2023. In October the same year, he got his first paid collaboration of Rs 15,000. He earned Rs 6.5 lakh by working part-time in the first year.

Rising earnings and big changes

In 2024, both of them decided to leave their jobs and become full-time content creators. That year he earned Rs 45.3 lakh, which was much more than his total salary of Rs 35 lakh in IT. This income came from partnerships with brand agencies, affiliate marketing and organizing group trips. After this, he earned his highest in 2025. He left an agency that was not giving him the right opportunities, focused on YouTube-Facebook monetization and started selling his own digital products. With this his earnings increased to Rs 1.09 crore. In the first four months of 2026 alone, he has earned Rs 21.6 lakh. However, the duo also clarified in the video that content creation is a 'seasonal industry' and these figures do not include their travel or other operational expenses.
