The month of Sawan is going to start soon. This month, lakhs of devotees go on Kanwar Yatra, where many devotees carry water urns from Haridwar’s Ganga river or other holy rivers to their local Shiva temples. After which water is offered on Shivalinga. According to religious belief, there are many types of Kanwar Yatra, which are known as Dak, Khadi, Dandi and general Kanwar. All these Kanwars have different rules. According to religious experts, all the devotees who participate in Kanwar Yatra get the blessings of Lord Shiva. Among all these types of Kanwar Yatras, Dandi Kanwar is considered to be the most difficult.

This year the month of Sawan is starting from 30th July. Kanwar Yatra also starts from this day. In this journey, lakhs of people reach Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar, fill the water of river Ganga in a Kalash and return to their state on the day of Shivratri and go to the Shivalaya and perform Jalabhishek. According to belief, a Kalash filled with water is called Kanwar. Like every year, this year too a large number of devotees are excited to participate in the Kanwar Yatra. Now the question arises that what are the rules of different types of Kanwar Yatras?
