Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [भारत]July 28 (ANI): A Bhopal court on Tuesday extended the judicial custody of former district judge Giribala Singh and his son Samarth Singh till August 11 in the Twisha Sharma death case.

The CBI told the court that it still had to examine the witnesses and hence, the accused should remain in judicial custody. Giribala Singh and Samarth Singh will remain in jail till August 11.

Earlier, on July 14, a Bhopal court had extended his judicial custody in this case by 14 days till July 28.

Twisha Sharma was found dead in Katara Hills area of ​​Bhopal on the night of 12 May. While her in-laws claimed that she had committed suicide, her maternal family alleged that she was murdered.

Forensic dispute resolved with AIIMS report

Earlier on July 12, the AIIMS Medical Board, which conducted the second post-mortem on court orders in the Twisha Sharma death case, had submitted its final forensic opinion in a sealed cover to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), resolving a major forensic controversy over the material allegedly used for the hanging, which also included a gymnastics belt with a metal ring.

What was the whole controversy?

The main forensic controversy was whether the gymnastic belt with a metal ring allegedly used for hanging was the real noose and whether it matched the injuries on Twisha Sharma's neck.

The first post-mortem could not establish this as the contents of the alleged noose were not produced before the medical board during the post-mortem, leading to the Madhya Pradesh High Court ordering a second post-mortem by the medical board of AIIMS Delhi.

Sources said laboratory and histopathological examination confirmed the presence of skin tissue on the contents of the noose, establishing that it matched the injury pattern.

However, the final opinion of the board remains confidential as it has been handed over to the CBI in a sealed cover in compliance with the court's directions. (ANI)
