Liverpool’s chase for Bradley Barcola has reportedly moved a significant step ahead, with the club said to have reached an agreement in principle on personal terms with the Paris Saint-Germain attacker. The 23-year-old has become Liverpool’s main target as they rebuild their forward line after Mohamed Salah’s exit.

Barcola’s pace, direct running and ability to play on either flank would give Andoni Iraola a proven yet still developing attacker who could grow into a major presence at Anfield.

Even so, settling terms with Barcola is only one part of the process.

PSG are still in a strong bargaining position and are demanding a massive fee before they allow the France international to move on. There is no final agreement between the two clubs.

According to Nicolò Schira on X, Liverpool have reached an agreement in principle with Barcola over a contract that would run until 2032.

The proposed deal would reportedly make the winger one of the club’s top earners. Schira also says Liverpool are preparing an offer of more than €100 million.

That would be a major show of ambition, but PSG are believed to want between €150 million and €170 million before they approve a transfer.

The personal agreement gives Liverpool reason to be optimistic because it indicates Barcola is ready to make Anfield his next destination.

However, the transfer cannot move forward unless the Reds persuade PSG to reduce their valuation or accept a structured deal that includes achievable add-ons.

PSG reportedly value Barcola at around £145 million and have been using recent record-breaking Premier League transfers as reference points.

Liverpool have already held initial talks, while Arsenal have also been keeping tabs on his situation.

From a tactical angle, Barcola looks like an excellent replacement for some of the width and unpredictability lost with Salah.

He can take on defenders directly, threaten the space behind the back line and contribute from either wing.

Liverpool should push strongly to finish the deal, but an agreement with the player must not force them into accepting whatever price PSG ask for.

Barcola has huge potential, yet £145 million is an elite superstar fee for a player who has not always been guaranteed a place in the starting XI in Paris.

An offer above €100 million with realistic bonuses would be aggressive, but fair.

Liverpool have made progress, but disciplined talks between the clubs will decide whether this turns into a major signing or another costly transfer pursuit.
