A Large Display Built for Everyday Use
The leak suggests that Redmi 17 4G will use a 6.9-inch flat panel with an HD+ resolution of 1600 by 720 pixels. It will support a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and reach 825 nits peak brightness in High Brightness Mode.
Xiaomi also appears to be leaning on eye comfort credentials for this model. The display reportedly carries TUV Rheinland certification for both low blue light emission and flicker-free operation, and it includes DC dimming, a feature that reduces screen flicker at lower brightness levels, a detail budget phones do not always bother to include.
Design and Build
Leaked renders show a Dynamic RGB lighting element on the rear panel. The front is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i, and the phone carries an IP64 rating, meaning it should withstand dust exposure and light splashes of water. When looking at the dimensions, the phone is expected to measure 170.12 by 78.42 by 8.8millimeterss and weigh 232 grams, numbers that reflect its oversized battery as much as its screen size. Xiaomi is said to be readying four color options for the phone: Oak Green, Deep Blue, Black and Lotus Purple.
Battery and Charging
The phone packs a 7,500mAh battery, up from the 7,000mAh cell in the Redmi 15 4G, paired with 45W wired fast charging, an upgrade over the previous 33W. The battery capacity was independently corroborated by a European EPREL energy label listing, lending extra weight to the leak.

Cameras and Connectivity
Photography duties fall to a single 50MP primary rear sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 5P lens arrangement, accompanied by an auxiliary depth sensor for portrait-style shots. Selfies and video calls are handled by an 8MP front camera. Both the front and rear cameras are said to top out at 1080p video recording at 30 frames per second, figures typical of this price segment.
The phone is tipped to include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner combined with AI-powered face unlock, dual-band Wi-Fi, and NFC support that will likely vary by market, a common practice for Xiaomi’s budget devices sold across different regions.
Expected Pricing and Availability
Xiaomi has not made any official statement about the Redmi 17 4G, so pricing remains unconfirmed. However, separate European leaks suggest the entry-level 4GB/128GB configuration could start at around 250 euros, with the higher 6GB/256GB variant priced closer to 280 euros.
Converted roughly, that places the phone in the ballpark of Rs 28,000 to Rs 31,000. However, actual pricing in markets such as India typically comes in lower once local taxes, subsidies, and market-specific configurations are factored in. As these are based on pre-launch leaks, these figures and specifications should be treated as unofficial until Xiaomi confirms them.
