The Chhattisgarh Staff Selection Board (CGSSB) has issued an official notification for the recruitment of Assistant Teachers. Candidates wishing to work as Assistant Teachers in Chhattisgarh can apply via the official website. The application process for these posts began on July 24. A total of 2,292 vacancies will be filled through this recruitment drive. The deadline for applications is August 21, 2026. Candidates can make corrections to their application forms from August 22 to August 24.

**Exam Date**
The examination for the Assistant Teacher posts will be held on October 11, 2026. It will be conducted in a single shift from 10:00 AM to 12:15 PM across 16 districts of the state. The exam will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) worth a total of 100 marks. The duration of the exam will be two hours. There will be a negative marking of one-fourth of a mark for every incorrect answer.

General Category: ₹350
Other Backward Classes (OBC): ₹250
Scheduled Castes (SC)/Scheduled Tribes (ST)/PwD: ₹200

**Age Limit**
The prescribed age limit for applicants is a minimum of 21 years and a maximum of 35 years. Age relaxation will be provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories; specifically, SC, ST, and OBC candidates will be granted a relaxation of 5 years.

**Educational Qualification**
To apply for the post of Assistant Teacher, candidates must have passed Class 12 from a recognized institution in India with a minimum of 45% or 50% marks. Additionally, candidates must possess a B.Ed. or D.El.Ed. degree.
