8th CPC Delhi Meeting: The meeting in Delhi will cover topics such as salary revision, pensions, allowances, the fitment factor, promotions, career progression, and other service conditions that impact basic pay.
8th Pay Commission Update: Continuing its deliberations on salary revision and other service-related benefits, the 8th Central Pay Commission has announced two additional rounds of discussions with stakeholders in New Delhi next month.
In a notice issued on July 23, the Commission stated that it would hold in-person meetings with employee and pensioner organizations in Delhi on August 7 and 10. Participation is restricted to employee unions, federations, or organizations that have already submitted their memoranda but have not yet held discussions with the Commission. Eligible unions and associations can apply for an appointment with the Commission until July 31.
Application Process
Applications will be accepted exclusively online via the NIC form available on the official 8th Central Pay Commission portal. Applications submitted via hard copy or email will be considered invalid. Please note that it is mandatory to enter the unique 'Memo ID' received after memorandum submission when filling out the form. The Commission stated that details regarding the meeting venue and timing will be provided separately.
What issues will be discussed?
During the two-day meeting in Delhi, organizations representing government employees and pensioners will raise several issues related to pay and service conditions:
- Discussions will be held on increasing the minimum basic pay.
- Direct talks will take place regarding the determination of a new fitment factor.
- Other benefits such as allowances, promotions, and career progression will also be discussed.
The Commission stated that the meetings scheduled for August are part of an ongoing consultative process, and further meetings will be held in Delhi as well as in other states and Union Territories in the coming months. Employee organizations based outside the Delhi-NCR region can schedule meetings in their respective states or union territories, or at a nearby location.
