After Bollywood celebrities Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, Sonakshi Sinha and others celebrated the students' victory following Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation, actress Raveena Tandon also shared her views on social media. She said she was happy and proud that the voices of students were finally being heard and added that the protests had given her hope. However, she alleged that in some states, the student movement was hijacked by hooligans, political parties and people who were only there to make reels or gain attention.
Raveena Tandon Happy And Proud Of Students
The Welcome to the Jungle actress wrote, "Happy and proud that voices are finally being heard, Rishikeshprotest, and there is hope. Till now, environmental/ community animals/wildlife/deforestation protests were reaching dead ends and losing battles. People are awakening and the future generations have to realise that this is the only planet we have. There is no Planet B. This is it. This is what we have to save for their future."
Raveena praised the peaceful protests held in Mizoram and other states, saying they had set an example. However, she alleged, "Them. Unfortunately, in some states, the peaceful student movement was by hooligans, political parties and some were there just for opportunities to make reels and get some limelight."
"The violence and damaging public property were definitely unruly elements at work. Those non-students could’ve derailed this protest," she added.
Despite this, she said that the protests ultimately achieved their rightful demands and expressed hope that they would bring positive changes to the education system, reduce corruption and make education more accessible to everyone. "Jab padhega India, Badhega India," she added before concluding.
