Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are both keen on signing Rodri (30) from Manchester City this summer. As reported by L’Équipe, PSG’s move for the Spain international midfielder could be viewed as a counterblow to the La Liga side as they intensify their pursuit of Les Parisiens’ top target Yan Diomande (19) from RB Leipzig.
The Ligue 1 champions had earlier reached an agreement with the Côte d’Ivoire international over personal terms. But once Madrid entered the race for his signature, he has now agreed to join the Spanish capital club, and the two sides are now negotiating a deal with the Bundesliga outfit.
Real Madrid have not hidden their desire to sign the Manchester City midfielder. With the Spanish club now moving ahead in their bid for Diomande, the Paris club have made their interest in the Ballon d’Or winner known. Even if Rodri only wants to sign for Madrid, PSG’s interest will only push up his asking price.
