On the occasion of National Parents' Day 2026 , actor Suniel Shetty opened up about his journey as a father and the lessons parenthood has taught him over the years. The actor spoke about his children, Athiya Shetty and Ahan Shetty , saying that a parent's responsibilities never truly come to an end, no matter how independent their children become.

Suniel explained that every important decision in life is influenced by the desire to ensure the well-being of one's children. According to him, that feeling remains constant throughout life and is one of the most rewarding aspects of being a parent. As quoted by Hindustan Times, he said, "As a parent, you always have your children's comfort in the back of your mind driving your decisions. So whether it's career, health, or parenting, that is something that will always be a concern and that is the beauty of parenthood, the beauty of being a mom, dad, grandma or grandpa."

Proud of Athiya and Ahan's individual journeys

Suniel also spoke about the different paths his children have chosen. Athiya Shetty stepped away from acting after marrying cricketer KL Rahul and embracing family life. The couple welcomed their daughter Evaarah Vipula Rahul in 2025. Meanwhile, Ahan Shetty has continued to pursue acting and recently received appreciation for his performance in 'Border 2'. The veteran actor said he is proud of how both his children have handled their lives and careers. He added that his love and concern for them remain unchanged despite their achievements. Sharing his thoughts, he said, "I'm very happy with the way they've conducted themselves, the way they've projected themselves and the impact that they have on people and the audience and kids their age. But that concern, love, and that feeling of wanting everything to be fairy tale-like for your children, that is something that'll never change."

Busy phase continues for the veteran actor

Suniel Shetty has remained active across multiple projects in recent years. He was recently seen in 'Welcome to the Jungle', 'Border 2', and the teen comedy 'Nadaaniyan'.
