Lucknow: An investigation into the criminal background of Manoj Tiwari s/o Lal Bahadur Tiwari, a resident of Village Singhpur, Auratar under Nichlaul Police Station in Maharajganj District, who has been in the spotlight for the past five days, has revealed several serious cases registered against him.

According to records available with Tezzbuzz News, cases involving grave charges have been filed against him at various police stations in the Maharajganj district, and the police have already submitted charge sheets in the court.

1.Case Crime No. 335/2023 (Kotwali Sadar)
Sections: 120-B, 500, 506, 384, 353 IPC
Complainant: Pushp Kumar (IFS), then Divisional Forest Officer (DFO)
Allegations: Obstruction of official duty, alleged extortion, and criminal intimidation.

2.Case Crime No. 369/2021 (Kotwali Sadar)
Sections: 352, 504, 353 IPC
Complainant: Shivendra Johri, In-charge, Camp Branch, Sohagi Barwa Wildlife Division
Allegations: Obstruction of official duty, assault, and other charges.

3.Case Crime No. 437/2021 (Nichlaul)
Sections: 323, 504, 506 IPC
Complainant: Naveen Upadhyay
Allegations: Assault and criminal intimidation (threat to kill).

4.Case Crime No. 220/2020 (Nichlaul)
Sections: 188, 269, 270, 323, 504, 506 IPC and the Epidemic Diseases Act
Complainant: Mohan Singh
Allegations: Assault and violation of epidemic- regulations.

According to the documents with Tezzbuzz News, the police have filed charge sheets in these cases; however, all matters remain sub judice.

An investigation by Tezzbuzz News has revealed that three other FIRs were also registered against Manoj Tiwari, in which the police subsequently filed a Final Report (FR). Demands for a reinvestigation into these cases are now being raised at the local level.

The Crucial Question

The most serious aspect is that even cases where the complainants themselves were senior government officials and Forest Department officers have remained entangled in the judicial process for years. Given this, it is natural to ask: if a final outcome has not been reached even in cases filed by government officials, shouldn’t the effectiveness of the law-and-order and prosecution systems be called into question?
