'Jana Nayagan' box office collections day 3 (Live): Thalapathy Vijay and Pooja Hegde's film adds Rs 1.94 crore, India Net touches Rs 65.79 crore

Thalapathy Vijay 's 'Jana Nayagan' is continuing its theatrical run after a record-breaking opening at the box office. The film entered its first Saturday with live collections coming in steadily.
According to the latest live estimates from Sacnilk, 'Jana Nayagan' has collected Rs 1.94 crore net in India so far on Day 3. At the time of reporting, the film was running across 2,687 shows nationwide.

The Tamil version has contributed Rs 1.86 crore net from 1,574 shows in the live tally. The Telugu version has earned Rs 3 lakhs from 332 shows so far.
The film opened with an impressive Rs 42.70 crore net on its first day. It followed that performance with Rs 21.15 crore net on Day 2. Those collections helped the film comfortably cross the Rs 50 crore India net milestone within just two days of release.
Worldwide total remains above Rs 112 crore'Jana Nayagan' has also delivered solid numbers in overseas markets. By the end of Day 2, the film had collected Rs 37.50 crore gross internationally.
The overseas total includes Rs 10 crore gross earned on the second day alone. Combined with its domestic performance, the film's worldwide gross collection reached Rs 112.50 crore after two days in theatres.
Day 2 saw expected decline after blockbuster opening
After its massive opening-day performance, 'Jana Nayagan' witnessed a decline on Friday. According to Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 21.15 crore net on Day 2 compared to Rs 42.70 crore net on its opening day. This represented a 50.5 per cent drop in daily collections.
With the first weekend still underway, all eyes are now on whether Saturday evening and Sunday collections can improve the film's momentum.
ETimes verdict on 'Jana Nayagan'ETimes, in its 'Jana Nayagan' review, wrote, "By the time we get to the climax, we are in an over-the-top realm of remote-controlled warfare and social media-amplified hate campaigns that are happening overnight in hardly believable manner.
But Vijay holds it all together. The earnestness in his performance and the politically loaded lines ("50 varushama arasiyal pannitirukara kudumbam", "Motha Tamizhachigaloda aaseervaadhamum ennikum unga kooda irukkum") sort of keep us interested. And Anirudh does his part by adding punch to the scenes. But as a farewell vehicle to one of Tamil cinema's greatest entertainers, Jana Nayagan deserved to have been better."
