The Meteorological Department believes that the upcoming rains will bring down the temperature and people will get relief from the heat and humidity of the last few days. Experts have advised people to avoid going out unnecessarily during strong sunlight, drink adequate amount of water and take special care of children and the elderly. At the same time, those who have to travel after July 28, should leave only after seeing the latest weather updates, because road traffic may be affected during rains.
In view of the possible rain, the Municipal Corporation and departments have also been instructed to clean the drains and maintain the drainage system, so that there is no problem of waterlogging in the city in case of rain. Traffic police will also keep an eye on major routes, so that jam situations can be avoided during rains.
