Shabana Azmi, who recently took part in the student protests and the Chalo Sansad march at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, has been diagnosed with swine flu. Following the news of her absence from the Mumbai protest due to health concerns, she provided an update on social media. The actress from Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani confirmed that she has contracted H1N1 and has been advised to stay in isolation for five days. She also expressed her support for those who participated in the peaceful protest at Dadar, dedicating her father Kaifi Azmi's poem 'Naujawan' to them.


Shabana Azmi's Health Condition Following Swine Flu Diagnosis

In a heartfelt message alongside a photo from the protest, Shabana stated, "Dear Mumbaikars, I intended to join your protest yesterday, but I’ve unfortunately contracted H1N1 and must isolate for the next five days. Nevertheless, I want to convey my solidarity and gratitude." She mentioned that she was receiving updates from young activists on the ground, many of whom were participating in a protest for the first time and felt the power of their voices. "Your bravery and dedication continue to inspire me, and I stand with you in solidarity," she added, sharing her father's poem 'Naujwan' for the youth.



Health Scare During the Protest

During the protest at Jantar Mantar on July 20, Shabana Azmi experienced a health scare when the Delhi Police deployed tear gas to manage the crowd. The 75-year-old actress suffered an asthma attack, and viral footage showed her being escorted to a nearby building, appearing visibly unwell. She later disclosed that she felt dizzy and unwell. In an interview, she stated, "I have asthma and experienced an attack due to the tear gas, but I had my inhaler with me, so I am fine now."

Shabana has become a significant voice in support of the student protests. The veteran actress has not only shared her thoughts on social media but has also actively participated in the movement.
