What are the conditions for the VSSC internship?

Students pursuing BE, B.Tech, ME, M.Tech, B.Sc, M.Sc, BS-MS, Integrated M.Sc, Integrated M.Tech, and PhD programs are eligible to apply for the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) internship. Undergraduate students must have completed the prescribed semesters, while ME, M.Tech, and M.Sc students must have completed their first semester, and PhD students must have finished their coursework. Applications will be accepted from students enrolled in regular courses or from candidates completing their course after February 14, 2025.

What is the duration of the internship?

The duration of this internship is set for a minimum of 21 days and a maximum of 45 days. During this period, students will have the opportunity to work on various projects in ISRO laboratories under the guidance of scientists and experts. However, this is strictly a training-oriented program; selected candidates will not be provided with any stipend, honorarium, or accommodation and boarding facilities. Selection will be based on the students' academic qualifications, available seats, and the availability of laboratory resources at the respective ISRO center. Selected candidates will be notified via email. ISRO has clarified that a student can avail of this internship opportunity only once during the course of a single degree program.

When do applications begin?

The online application process for the BSc internship will commence on August 14, 2026, at 10:00 AM, and applications will be accepted until 11:59 PM on September 14, 2026. The internship will be conducted between November 1, 2026, and January 31, 2027. While applying, candidates must upload a single PDF file containing necessary documents, such as marksheets, details of technical skills, project work, work experience, and a college permission letter.
