Hardik Pandya-CSK Trade: Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the two most successful teams in IPL history, are preparing for the biggest trade deal in the cricket world. According to media reports, Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya is at the center of this trade. As soon as IPL 2026 ends, all the franchises have started working on strategies for the next season. It is being told that the management of Mumbai Indians is not very happy with the performance and captaincy of its captain Hardik Pandya and it is considered almost certain that Pandya will leave the dressing room of Mumbai.
Conversation going on in Dhoni's presence
According to media reports, except Bengaluru and Hyderabad, all other franchises had shown interest in acquiring Hardik, but Chennai Super Kings is at the forefront of this race. Reports claim that great captain MS Dhoni is also a part of this ongoing conversation between Mumbai and Chennai. Initially, Mumbai Indians had demanded youngsters Ayush Mhatre and Shivam Dubey from CSK in exchange for Hardik Pandya. However, Chennai refused to give Mhatre and proposed to include South African batsman Dewald Brevis in return, but a big condition has been put in it.
Bet on Brewis' performance in The Hundred 2026
Chennai Super Kings is a little cautious about Dewald Brevis. IPL 2026 was nothing special for Brewis, where he scored only 151 runs in 8 matches. Apart from this, his strike rate in International T20 has also fallen from 176.42 last year to 145.22 in 2026, where he scored 228 runs in 11 matches. Therefore, CSK's bet is that they will look at Brewis' form in The Hundred 2026 going on in England, where he is playing for MI London.
According to reports, if Brewis performs brilliantly in The Hundred, then CSK would like to keep him and will offer Mumbai Rs 10 crore cash in exchange for Hardik along with Shivam Dubey. At the same time, if Brevis' performance remains poor, then CSK will give both Shivam Dubey and Dewald Brevis to Mumbai Indians and include Hardik Pandya in their team. However, no update has come yet on this trade from both the franchises.
