Josimar José Évora Dias, better known as Vozinha, has emerged as one of the standout figures of the 2026 World Cup. The Cape Verde goalkeeper, who had a modest career across clubs in Cape Verde, Angola, Portugal, Romania and Cyprus, has seen his profile rise dramatically since the tournament began.
His performances against Spain, Saudi Arabia and Argentina helped Cape Verde earn a historic draw in their World Cup debut and reach the knockout rounds. His display against Argentina, in particular, nearly helped his side eliminate the eventual finalists, with Vozinha producing a series of key saves before Argentina secured a 3-2 victory.
Vozinha’s popularity has grown significantly, with his Instagram following reportedly reaching 28.3 million. He was also invited to participate in FIFA's legends match before the World Cup final and was named in the tournament XI.
His market value has also increased sharply, with Transfermarkt raising his estimated valuation from approximately $58,000 to around $581,000 – a rise of 900 per cent, the largest percentage increase of any player following the tournament.
Despite his newfound attention, Vozinha remains without a club. Asked about his future, he said: "I hope I’ll find a destination soon and can keep playing football. There’s no rush. There are plenty of rumours, but nothing concrete."
His performances at the World Cup have now drawn widespread attention from clubs around the world, with his next move likely to be closely watched.
