The ongoing debate regarding Kushal Tandon's comments about his ex-girlfriend Gauahar Khan on the reality show Alliance continues to attract attention. Following criticism for his disrespectful remarks directed at Gauahar while conversing with her husband, Zaid Darbar, Kushal's sister, Tina Tandon, has stepped in to defend him. In a recent interview, she dismissed the backlash as an overreaction fueled by social media, asserting that many are jumping to conclusions without grasping the full context of the discussion. Tina also commended Kushal's friendship with Zaid, suggesting that the situation has been exaggerated.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Tina Tandon responded to the criticism aimed at her brother following his controversial statement about Gauahar Khan on Alliance. She expressed that social media tends to amplify issues unnecessarily, stating, "I am sorry but social media or whatever, yaha na bahot zyada flair up ho jata hain cheezon ko. Unnecessarily because it is Kushal... Kushal everywhere, toh sab kood jayenge ki iss cheez se hume fame milna hain. Iss cheez se unhe TRP milegi, iss se publicity lena hain." (Translation: Social media tends to exaggerate everything. Since it's Kushal, everyone jumps in because it brings them fame, publicity, and TRPs.)

Further defending her brother, Tina urged people to refrain from making judgments without understanding the entire context of the interaction between Kushal and Zaid. She remarked, "I don't understand why people are quoting one line without context. Gauahar is a beautiful and adorable woman, and I have known her for years. Tagging people unnecessarily is pointless." She characterized the incident as a joke that has been blown out of proportion, emphasizing that outsiders should not jump to conclusions based on a short clip. Tina also noted that sensational stories are being created around the incident simply because it garners attention, and she expressed her appreciation for Kushal's bond with Zaid on the show.

The uproar began during an episode of Alliance when Kushal Tandon remarked to Zaid Darbar, "Tujhe meri cheezein pasand aati hain," which translates to, "You like my things." Given that Gauahar Khan is Kushal's former partner and is now married to Zaid, many viewers found the comment disrespectful, objecting to the reference of a woman as a 'thing.'

In response to the controversy, Alliance producer Banijay Asia released a video featuring Zaid Darbar apologizing to Gauahar Khan. In the video, Zaid acknowledged that he had taken the remark too lightly and expressed regret for not reacting differently. He apologized to his wife, clarifying that he never intended to hurt her or anyone else and hoped she would understand his intentions. Gauahar has since shown support for Zaid and endorsed Tina's statement, affectionately referring to her as 'Di' and noting that maturity and respect are not universally upheld.
