The PM Kisan Yojana provides financial assistance to farmers. A total of ₹6,000 is deposited into farmers' accounts each year. This money is disbursed in three installments each year. Currently, there is strong discussion about increasing this amount.
Recently, the 23rd installment was deposited into farmers' accounts. Now, as discussions are underway regarding the 24th installment, will this amount be increased? This is the question on farmers' minds. Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has responded on behalf of the government on this issue.
Meanwhile, for the past few months, there has been talk of increasing the annual financial assistance under the PM Kisan Yojana. Many farmers hope that the current assistance of Rs 6,000 should be increased to Rs 9,000. Therefore, there was a possibility of a major announcement from the government before the 24th installment. However, the central government has now taken a clear stand on this issue.
Responding to a question in the Lok Sabha, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the government currently has no proposal to increase the annual financial assistance of ₹6,000 provided under the PM Kisan Yojana. This makes it clear that eligible farmers will receive the same ₹2,000 installment in the 24th installment of the PM Kisan Yojana, as usual. If there are any changes, the government will make an official announcement.
