According to media reports, the company may soon start the Apple Upgrade Program. Under this scheme, customers will be able to use products like iPhone, MacBook, iPad and Apple Watch on rent or subscription model instead of buying them.

What is Apple Upgrade Program?

According to reports, Apple will launch a new subscription model to make its premium devices available to more people. In this, instead of spending a huge lump sum or paying a long EMI, customers will be able to use the device by paying a fixed fee every month.

The biggest advantage of this scheme will be that users will be able to upgrade to new models from time to time, so that they will not need to buy a new device every time.

How will it work?

The method of Apple Upgrade Program will be like lease model. Customers will be able to keep the device with them for a fixed period. After completion of the period, the device will have to be returned or it can be upgraded to a new model by paying additional fee.

According to reports:

The lease period for iPhone and Apple Watch can be around 24 months.
For MacBook, you can get the option to use the device for about 36 months.

When can it be launched?

Media reports have claimed that Apple can start this new program from July 28. Initially it is likely to be launched in America. Customers will be able to get it through both Apple Store and online store. The name of Klarna Group has emerged as the financing partner for this scheme.

Who will be able to take advantage?

To avail the benefits of this program, customers will have to submit some important documents. Also, financial investigation and credit score evaluation can also be done. Only after this the customers will be eligible for this scheme.

On which products the offer will not be available?

According to reports, AppleCare will not be included in this plan. Apart from this, the company may keep some of its entry-level iPhone and iPad models out of this program. However, the final list will be revealed at the time of launch.
