New Delhi [भारत]July 22 (ANI): Union Health Minister JP Nadda on Wednesday said the paper leak issue should not be politicized and is a serious problem that needs in-depth discussion.

Nadda, leader of the House in the Rajya Sabha, said the government is ready to discuss all aspects of the NEET-UG paper leak in Parliament. Addressing a press conference, he said the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is "responsible and accountable".

He asked, "We should go beyond allegations and counter-allegations and discuss this. The best medium for discussion is Parliament, and we are ready for that discussion. There should be a thorough discussion going into the details through an in-depth discussion. What factors are responsible for the paper leak? Who are the people involved in it, and how has the central government responded?"

He further said, "When a paper leak came to our notice, how have we addressed this issue, and how should other governments address it? What is the point on which we should consider deeply and find a solution so that injustice is not done to millions of our students?"

The senior BJP leader said that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi alleged that more than 150 papers have been leaked and it is a matter of investigation. "The government, being a responsible government, will undoubtedly investigate and present the truth before the public and the country," he said.

He further said, "The demand of the students, the issue they have raised regarding the paper leak. First of all, I urge that we should not politicize this issue and it is not appropriate to try to take political advantage from it. This is a serious problem and needs a thorough discussion."

Rahul Gandhi asked for resignation of Education Minister

In his press conference earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi made several attacks on the government and demanded the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. He alleged that Dharmendra Pradhan has "failed as an education minister" and has "literally destroyed India's greatest asset" and said the Congress fully supports the demand for his resignation.

Rahul Gandhi also demanded accountability for the police action against protesters during his 'Sansad Chalo' march, saying those who ordered it and those who carried it out should be held accountable.

The Congress leader said, "They (students) have some demands. The first demand is completely justified that Dharmendra Pradhan, who has failed as an education minister and is known to be corrupt, should be relieved of his duties. 100% justified demand. There is nothing wrong in it. He has shown India and the world that he is incapable of running this system. Exams are being leaked one after the other."

He further said, "The second demand is that every single person who pointed fingers at our students should be made accountable and it does not matter who are the people giving the orders and who are the people carrying it out. The third thing is that the person who is running this entire system, the person who is ultimately accountable for all this, should show the decency to apologize to the students for whatever has happened."
