New Delhi:Due to protests at Jantar Mantar and advice from security teams, the Delhi Metro (DMRC) has closed entry and exit gates at 16 major stations in Central Delhi until further notice.

The affected stations where entry and exit have been completely suspended include:

To prevent complete disruption to network-wide transit, the DMRC clarified that if you need to switch lines, you can still do so. Interchange facilities remain open at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, and Central Secretariat. You can change trains at these three stations, though entry into or exit from the station premises is strictly prohibited.

Since these stations cover busy areas like Connaught Place and Central Secretariat, many office-goers and daily commuters are facing delays. The DMRC has posted updates across its social media channels advising commuters to seek alternative routes and verify station operational status before setting out.

Large crowds are gathering every day at Jantar Mantar to support the ‘Cockroach Janata Party’. High-profile politicians and supporters are also visiting the area.

To manage the crowds and prevent unrest, police have implemented a five-layer barricading system on all access roads leading toward Jantar Mantar. Everyone entering the site must go through metal detectors and security checks.

Police have also parked a high-tech control van in the area. It has 360-degree cameras and face-recognition tools to continuously monitor the crowd, track suspicious individuals, or spot any trouble instantly.
