The Delhi government is working rapidly towards providing authentic digital records of their properties to the people living in rural areas of the capital. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday reviewed the progress of the Swamitva Scheme (SVAMITVA Scheme) being implemented in Delhi and directed the officials to expedite the work.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the objective of this scheme is to provide a permanent solution to the property related problems that have been going on for years in Lal Dora and populated areas. With the creation of digital records, villagers will get authentic ownership documents of their properties, which will make it easier to avail government services and will also reduce property disputes.

SVAMITVA Scheme: 48 villages of Delhi included in the scheme

According to the government, 48 villages of Delhi have been included under the Swamvatti scheme. Out of these, drone survey work has been completed in 30 villages and final property cards of these villages have been prepared. Through drone technology, an accurate digital map of every property of the villages is being prepared, so that in future the records will remain completely transparent and reliable.

Survey of 12,232 properties completed, 8,423 will get smart property cards with QR Code.

So far, 12,232 properties have been surveyed under the scheme. Of these, 8,423 are properties on which there is no dispute of any kind. The process of issuing QR Code based Smart PVC Property Cards for all these properties has reached the final stage. Digital information will be available in these smart cards, making asset identification and verification easier and safer than before.

Digital property records ready, all records will be linked to DORIS

Along with preparing digital records of properties, Delhi Government is also rapidly progressing the process of linking them with DORIS (Delhi Online Registration Information System). This will make property related records available on a unified digital platform, making registration, verification and other government processes faster, transparent and convenient.

What is ownership plan and why is it important?

Swamitva Yojana is an ambitious scheme of the Central Government, the objective of which is to prepare an authentic record of the properties of rural populated areas by conducting drone survey of them. On the basis of this, official property cards are issued to property owners. Rural citizens get many benefits from this scheme-

• Official proof of ownership of the property is available.
• The possibility of reduction in property disputes increases.
• It is easier to get bank loans and other financial services.
• Transparency increases in government schemes and administrative services.
• Having digital records prevents record related disputes and irregularities in future.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta gave instructions to speed up the work

During the review meeting, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta told the officials that the work of survey and preparation of digital records in the remaining villages of the scheme should be completed within the stipulated time, so that authentic digital property records can be made available to more and more rural families as soon as possible.

He said that through the Swamitva scheme, people of rural areas of Delhi will get reliable digital records of their properties. This will solve property related problems that have been going on for years and make property related services simpler, faster and transparent.
