Kollywood sequel Gatta Kusthi 2, headlined by Vishnu Vishal, has emerged as a blockbuster at the box office. The film, also starring Aishwarya Lekshmi, has proved that sequels can be huge money spinners if made well. According to the latest update, Gatta Kusthi 2 has collected Rs. 55 crores so far, the highest-ever total for a Vishnu Vishal starrer. The phenomenal support from family audiences made this feat possible. Unlike Gatta Kusthi, the second installment did not release in Telugu. Chella Ayyavu is the writer and director of the film. Ishari K. Ganesh and Vishnu Vishal jointly bankrolled this family entertainer set against a sports backdrop. Zara Zyanna, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Karunas, Munishkanth, and Kaali Venkat played key roles. Sean Roldan composed the music.
