Mohammed Shami is an Indian seamer who has been playing for Team India since 2013 across formats. He has been an integral part of India's success in Tests alongside other pacers. In the same light, he has revealed the success of the Indian speedsters of late.
Team India is currently a force to reckon with across formats. It is primarily in the Tests that the side has attained considerable success, having tamed Australia Down Under on two successive occasions.
Most of the credit for the same goes to the prolific Indian pacers, who have terrorised any batting order, be it home or away. The likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma, along with the rise of new guns like Mohammed Siraj, T Natarajan and many more, the Indian pacers seem invincible at the moment.
Consequently, many have wondered what has led to all the Indian pacers firing at once. Speaking on the same to Cricbuzz, Indian seamer Mohammed Shami has revealed that all the bowlers are enjoying the success of each other rather than one particular individual doing all the hard work.
"Our fast bowling unit is a great package and everyone is working extremely hard. Besides, we also understand the other counterparts quite well. The bonding and the fun you saw on that day was because we happen to enjoy the success of each other a lot. When one is happy, we are all equally happy," Shami said.
"If someone is going through a rough patch, we ensure of lifting up his spirit. We try to lighten the mood so that he forgets the worries. I think every bond should be like this because it is a proud moment to play for your country every time. In this unit which we have been building since 2013-14, everyone enjoys each other's success," he added.
India has a task at hand against New Zealand in the upcoming ICC World Test Championship final in Southampton next month. India is coming off a poor outing against the Kiwis last year, having lost the two-Test series 0-2. Meanwhile, with the final being played in England on a green track, the Indian seamers would look to make the most out of it and trouble the Kiwi batsmen hard.
