Farmers March and CJP protest in Delhi: Today is a difficult day for the people living in Delhi. Because on one hand cockroaches are staging a strike at Jantar Mantar. On the other hand, farmers have started protesting. Due to which Shambhu border of Punjab-Haryana has been sealed.

Ambala (Haryana) [भारत]July 21 (ANI): Punjab Police has completely sealed the Shambhu border on Tuesday. This step was taken because a large number of farmers had gathered at the Punjab-Haryana border. All these farmers are marching to participate in the 'Desh Bachao Morcha' Mahapanchayat to be held in Delhi against the proposed India-US trade deal.

In the pictures received from Patiala, it is clearly visible that a huge crowd of farmers has gathered at the Shambhu border. All of them are preparing to march to Kisan Ghat in the national capital Delhi under the banner of 'Desh Bachao Morcha'.

Why did the farmers protest?

Earlier on Monday, farmers had also demonstrated at Shambhu Toll Plaza on Ambala-Punjab Highway in protest against the arrest of Gurnam Singh Chaduni, national president of Bharatiya Kisan Union (Chadhuni faction).
On this matter, Ambala's Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Jagbir Singh told ANI that the protesters have some demands related to Delhi. He informed that the road which was blocked has now been opened for traffic.

DSP Singh said on Monday, "They have some demands regarding Delhi, and in this connection they had blocked the road from Amritsar to Delhi; now the traffic has started again... Whatever situation arises, it will be dealt with. We have made complete arrangements to maintain law and order..."
In view of today's Delhi march of farmers, heavy police force has been deployed at Shambhu border (Punjab-Haryana border) and barricading has also been done.

What does PM Modi want for farmers?

On the other hand, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that the Prime Minister has assured the members that the interests of farmers will be given priority and they will not be allowed to suffer any harm.
Speaking to reporters after today's NDA parliamentary party 'Mangal Milan' meeting, Rijiju said, "Regarding these agreements, the Prime Minister has assured that the interests of farmers will be given priority; he stressed that they will not suffer any loss. He said that the welfare of farmers is paramount in any FTA (free trade agreement) with any country, to ensure that these agreements are in the best interest of both the farmers and the country."
