Dosa trader reached ₹1 lakh from earning of ₹13 lakh

During the conversation, the restaurant owner told that every month about Rs 1 lakh is spent on the rent of the shop and Rs 1.5 lakh is spent on the salaries of the employees. Apart from this, if electricity bill, raw material and other operating expenses are added, the total monthly expenditure reaches to around Rs 4 lakh.

He says that business is affected due to less number of customers in summer, whereas sales increase again in winter. Despite this he said that he prefers running his own business rather than working.

When he was asked for advice for those thinking of leaving their job and starting a business, he said, ‘If you have a dream of doing something of your own, then definitely try. There may be failure in the beginning, but those who make continuous efforts definitely get success one day.”

Discussion broke out regarding the difference between revenue and profit

After the video went viral, a discussion broke out on social media about the difference between revenue and profit. Many users said that it is important to understand the difference between monthly revenue of Rs 12 lakh and profit of Rs 1 lakh. One user wrote, “He is not only earning, but is also providing employment to many people.”

Another said that even if Rs 1 lakh is the net profit, it is still a good achievement for a small business. At the same time, some people also raised questions on the expenditure and profit figures.
