Kobbie Mainoo reportedly suffered a back injury during training ahead of the match and was therefore unavailable for selection against France.

Marcus Rashford was chosen by Thomas Tuchel to start on the left wing.

The England forward’s future remains uncertain as his release clause has now expired, with no club meeting the asking price.

The 28-year-old is expected to rejoin Manchester United for pre-season training following his holiday, and manager Michael Carrick is believed to be open to integrating him into his plans.

Rashford played only the first half of England’s thrilling 6-4 victory over France that secured the bronze medal.

However, in those 45 minutes, England stormed to a 4-0 lead at half-time, with Rashford playing a key role in several attacking moves.

His standout moment came when he calmly assisted Bukayo Saka inside the penalty area, setting up the Arsenal winger for England’s opening goal.

Rashford also missed a one-on-one opportunity and produced a dazzling display of skill to create space for a powerful long-range shot that was impressively saved by Mike Maignan.

During the match, Rashford registered one assist and made three key passes.

The winger completed 90% of his passes, though neither of his crossing attempts found a teammate.

He proved a constant menace down the left flank, completing two of his three dribble attempts and keeping the French full-back under intense pressure.

Rashford also contributed defensively with three progressive carries and two successful ground duels.
