Market Cap: 5 of Top 10 Most-Valued Firms Add Rs 1.54 Lakh Crore; TCS Leads Weekly Gains

The combined market valuation of five of India's 10 most valuable companies increased by Rs 1.54 lakh crore during the week, driven by a positive trend in domestic equity markets. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) emerged as the biggest gainer after reporting strong quarterly earnings.
The benchmark indices also ended the week higher, with the BSE Sensex rising 582.06 points (0.75%) and the NSE Nifty gaining 127.40 points (0.52%). TCS Tops the Gainers List

TCS recorded the highest increase in market capitalisation, adding Rs 72,072.30 crore to take its valuation to Rs 15.20 lakh crore. The rally came after the IT major reported a 4.61% year-on-year rise in its June quarter net profit to Rs 13,349 crore, boosting investor sentiment.
Reliance, ICICI Bank, SBI and Bajaj Finance Also GainApart from TCS, Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India (SBI) and Bajaj Finance also witnessed gains in market value during the week.
- ICICI Bank added Rs 29,062.06 crore, taking its market capitalisation to Rs 10.34 lakh crore.
- Bajaj Finance gained Rs 21,946.50 crore, with its valuation rising to Rs 6.57 lakh crore.
- State Bank of India saw its market value increase by Rs 7,338.34 crore, reaching Rs 9.64 lakh crore.
On the other hand, five of the top-10 most-valued companies saw a decline in their market capitalisation.
- HDFC Bank lost Rs 7,084.61 crore, bringing its valuation down to Rs 12.62 lakh crore.
- Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) shed Rs 12,080.75 crore, with its market value falling to Rs 5.48 lakh crore.
- Larsen & Toubro (L&T) recorded the sharpest decline among the losers, with its market capitalisation dropping Rs 18,097.72 crore to Rs 5.25 lakh crore.
- Bharti Airtel lost Rs 7,706.45 crore, while Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) saw its valuation decline by Rs 1,221.79 crore.
