Rescue teams have been deployed in the most affected areas, and officials are actively engaged in search and relief operations. These rain-related fatalities occurred amidst ongoing heavy rainfall that has also led to flood-like conditions in the neighboring Rajouri district, where low-lying areas have been inundated, causing property damage and forcing hundreds to evacuate to safer locations.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah emphasized that the administration's immediate focus is on saving lives in the impacted regions. In a post on social media, he stated that he has been monitoring the situation since morning, particularly in Rajouri city and surrounding areas that have experienced significant rainfall. Abdullah mentioned that he is in contact with local legislators and that while conditions are still evolving, the priority remains to protect valuable lives. The government is committed to providing assistance to those affected by the rainfall and sudden flooding that has damaged their properties.

The new bus stand area in Bela has been one of the hardest hit, where floodwaters have damaged numerous vehicles in the parking area. Officials reported that the water levels in rivers rose overnight due to the continuous rainfall, leading to dozens of vehicles being either swept away or submerged.
