Karthik-Yami shine at 72nd National Film Awards, ‘Article 370’ becomes best Hindi film of the year

Mumbai: The winners of the 72nd National Film Awards, one of the most prestigious honors of Indian cinema, have been announced. Let us tell you, many famous names have won National Awards honoring the excellent performance of the films and artists released in the year 2024. This time Karthik Aryan was chosen best actor for ‘Chandu Champion’ and Mammootty was chosen best actor for ‘Brahmayugam’. Yami Gautam has won the National Award for Best Actress for the film ‘Article 370’.

‘Article 370’ received the Best Film Award

The film ‘Article 370’ has achieved many big achievements this time. It received the Best Feature Film award, while Shashwat Sachdev was given the Best Music Direction award for the same film. Sanjeev Srivastava has been awarded the National Award for Best Film Critic for his deep understanding of Hindi cinema and excellent film criticism.

These films dominated regional cinema

Reginal Cinema also featured in the awards this time. ‘Committee Kullu’ got the best Telugu film, ‘Rayan’ got the best Tamil film, ‘Mukkam Post Bombilwadi’ got the best Marathi film, ‘Feminichi Fathima’ got the best Malayalam film and ‘Srikanth’ got the best Hindi feature film. Apart from this, Odia, Kannada, Gujarati, Bengali, Assamese, Manipuri and Garhwali films were also honored in different categories.

How was the situation in the technical field?

Vijay Ganguly has received the Best Choreography award for the song ‘Aaj Ki Raat’ from ‘Stree 2’ in the technical category. Deepali Noor was awarded the best costume for ‘Pushpa 2’, Nitin Choudhary was awarded the best production design for ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ was awarded the best sound design. Sanjay Mishra was chosen the best supporting actor.

How was the selection done?

Let us tell you, this year those films were considered for National Awards, which had received certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) between January 1, 2024 and December 31, 2024. The winners were selected by an 11-member jury, headed by senior filmmaker Jayaraj. After evaluating the films from across the country, the jury decided the names of the winners in various categories and awarded them awards.
