Mumbai, July 18:
BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia has dismissed the speculation that the Lord’s ODI between England and India on Sunday could be Rohit Sharma’s last international match.
There are lot of speculations going on in media about Rohit Sharma’s future. I want to firmly assert that there has been no such discussion that Rohit will be playing his last match at Lord’s on Sunday,” Saikia said. “Rohit is a regular member of the Indian ODI team and he will continue to represent the country as long as he is in the scheme of things. In other words, Lord’s ODI wont be his last match.”
The talk about Rohit’s retirement escalated on Thursday midway through the second ODI in Cardiff, where he made 26 off 47. Rohit had looked unsettled even in the first ODI at Edgbaston, where he was dismissed for 11 off 21.
