Kohima, July 18: The Nagaland Police has declared a cash reward of ₹50,000 for credible leads regarding the individuals responsible for the recent IED explosion in Chumoukedima district, which resulted in the death of an Assam Rifles havildar and injuries to several others earlier this week.

This reward is aimed at information that can help identify or apprehend the culprits or their accomplices, as well as those involved in the planning, financing, or facilitating of the attack.

In a public announcement made on Friday, the police stated that any information leading to the recovery of explosives, weapons, communication devices, vehicles, or other incriminating evidence related to the incident would also be eligible for the reward.

The offer extends to tips about any hideouts, safe houses, or logistical support networks associated with the suspects.

Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, Aotula T Imchen, emphasized that the Dimapur Police Commissionerate is conducting a thorough investigation to identify and capture all individuals involved in what has been labeled a "heinous terrorist act."

The police have urged the public to come forward with any information, no matter how trivial it may seem, by reaching out to 7085055003 or 7085055011, both of which are available on WhatsApp.

The Dimapur Police Commissionerate has assured that the identities of informants will be kept confidential and protected under the law, and anonymous tips will also be accepted.

According to the public notice, the reward will only be issued after verifying that the information significantly contributed to solving the case, recovering evidence, or apprehending the suspects, pending approval from the relevant authority.

The blast on July 13 occurred along the Shokhuvi road in Chumoukedima district when a suspected improvised explosive device targeted an Assam Rifles vehicle during an operational movement, resulting in the death of a havildar and injuries to several personnel.

In response to the attack, security forces have initiated extensive search and combing operations in the vicinity.
