A revelation has come to light in the investigation of Gujarat Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) which has increased the concern of security agencies. After the arrest of five accused, who are said to be influenced by Jaish-e-Mohammed, it has come to light that no direct role of any foreign handler has been found in the initial investigation. Agencies say that the accused themselves moved towards terrorist activities under the influence of radical material, inflammatory videos and objectionable literature available on social media. The investigation has also revealed mention of some madrassas of Palanpur and Bharuch, where radical material is reaching some of the youth associated with them through the internet. However, the investigating agencies are investigating the role of the entire network.

Hate literature and Jaish flag recovered
According to ATS Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Sunil Joshi, a large quantity of objectionable books and publicity material has been recovered from the premises of the accused. The investigation claims to have found the flag of Jaish-e-Mohammed, alleged inflammatory videos of Pakistan-based terrorist Maulana Masood Azhar and literature to Jihad. Officials say that the accused were also using this material to influence other youth.
Learned information about bomb making online, did trials 8 times
ATS investigation has also revealed that the main accused Amad Jamia Abul Hasan and his associates allegedly tested IED and timer based explosive devices eight times at different places between the year 2023 and February 2024. Investigating agencies claim that information to preparation of explosives was collected through internet and social media. In the initial investigation, it is being said that it was the accused’s own plan, although the investigation into all aspects is still going on.

Order chemicals and equipment online
During the investigation, it also came to light that accused Mohammad Amin Shera and others used to order chemicals and other items used in preparing explosives through online platforms. ATS has recovered about Rs 1.30 lakh in cash and materials used in preparing explosive materials from the possession of the accused.
The investigating agency is examining digital evidence.
To get to the bottom of the case, ATS is now thoroughly investigating the digital activities of the accused. Officials have also sought information from platforms to Instagram, Telegram and Meta, so that complete records of contacts, chats, groups and online activities of the accused can be collected.
Case registered under UAPA

This entire action is to the FIR registered on July 8, 2024, in which a case was registered under various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Indian Justice Code (BNS). Gujarat ATS and Rajasthan Police are jointly investigating the entire network. Officials say that every person and link to the case will be identified and legal action will be taken.
