New EV: British luxury car manufacturer Range Rover has confirmed the arrival of its second full electric SUV, Range Rover Sport Electric. After recently showing a glimpse of the Range Rover Electric at several special events during the UK summer season, the company is now preparing to introduce its sporty SUV in an electric avatar. The new car will get an electric powertrain that boasts of strong performance and great driving experience without any compromise.
First glimpse at Goodwood Festival of Speed
The Range Rover Sport Electric was showcased at a preview event at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK over the weekend. Building on its excellent off-road and performance heritage, the electric SUV completed a series of challenging driving tests at the Goodwood Motor Circuit. In the past, the Range Rover Sport has proven its mettle with feats like climbing the 999 steps of China’s famous Heaven’s Gate and climbing Iceland’s tricky spillway.
SUV will be equipped with advanced technology
Many modern technologies have been used in the new Range Rover Sport Electric, which will provide better power delivery, faster torque response and a more balanced driving experience. The company has retuned its chassis, while the cabin experience has also been made more premium than before through better audio sound profiles. It aims to provide a sporty and refined driving feel on all types of terrains.
Powertrain range will be complete
Later this year, the Range Rover Sport will also add a fully electric model to its portfolio, completing its powertrain line-up. Currently, this SUV is available with plug-in hybrid, mild-hybrid V8 petrol and six-cylinder petrol and diesel engine options, allowing customers to choose as per their needs.
The company says that the new Range Rover Sport Electric has been developed in such a way that it provides great performance and an excellent driving experience while maintaining the sporty identity of the brand. Its technical information, specifications and other details to the launch are expected to be revealed by the end of this year.
