For the occasion, she wore a fuchsia organza bustier dress from the Marc Jacobs Spring 2027 collection.
I was pleased to see that the chain-detail belt made the transition from the runway, as it helps define the silhouette and gives the look a welcome focal point. The plum tights, however, were one styling element I could have done without. They made sense within the context of the runway presentation, but here they felt unnecessary and weighed the look down.
That said, I suspect the fit will be a bigger talking point than the styling. The bodice doesn’t sit as cleanly as it did on the runway, and I also prefer the original silhouette of the skirt. As a result, the dress doesn’t have quite the same impact it should.
This isn’t my favourite look from the Tracee Ellis Ross and Marc Jacobs fashion partnership. Even with different styling, I’m not convinced this dress was ever destined to be one of their standout collaborations.
