Leeds United have officially confirmed the signing of Bosnian defender Tarik Muharemović on a five-year contract.
The towering centre-back joins the Whites from Italian Serie A club Sassuolo, with the transfer reportedly valued at £34.1 million. His contract will keep him at Elland Road until 2031.
Before his stint with Sassuolo, Muharemović was part of the Juventus setup but did not make a senior appearance for the Turin club. The defender had earlier featured six times for Austrian side Wolfsberger AC, where he first gained attention for his performances.
The 23-year-old represented Bosnia & Herzegovina at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, making three appearances. However, his campaign ended on a disappointing note when he was sent off during his team’s 4-1 loss to Switzerland.
With this move, Muharemović becomes Leeds United’s second signing of the current summer transfer window, following the earlier acquisition of winger Harry Wilson.
