New Delhi: The cases of corona virus in the country may have reduced significantly compared to before, but the infection has not been completely eradicated. The latest data coming out from Andhra Pradesh has once again increased the concern of the health department. In the last few weeks, new cases of Covid-19 have been registered in the state and four infected patients have also died. However, health officials say that the deceased had pre-existing serious diseases and the situation is being constantly monitored.

Andhra Pradesh Health Commissioner G. Veerapandian said that between June 26 and July 16, a total of 12 cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the state. Four of these patients have died. According to the Health Department, all the cases are being monitored and necessary steps are being taken to prevent the spread of the infection. Officials clarified that at present there is no situation of spread of infection on any large scale in the state, but it is necessary to take precautions.

The deceased already had serious diseases

According to the Health Commissioner, the four people who died were already suffering from many serious health problems. These included problems like high blood pressure, diabetes and kidney disease. Of the four deceased, three patients were residents of Cuddapah district, while one patient was from Kakinada district. Officials say that the health condition of these patients was already weak, due to which complications increased after infection.

Where were most cases found?

According to health department data, the state’s first Covid-19 case this year was reported in Cuddapah district on June 26. After this, 11 new infected patients were found between July 1 and July 16. If we look at the district wise figures, maximum of eight cases were registered in Cuddapah district. Officials also said that two people contracted the virus after coming in contact with infected persons.

Cluster not found in any one area

The Health Commissioner said that all the infected patients have come from different divisions and areas. So far, no cluster of infection has been found in any one village, locality or area. For this reason, a situation like community infection is not being considered at present. The Health Department is continuously monitoring all the cases and the scope of investigation will be increased if necessary.
