NEET UG 2026 Result: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the results for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination. The wait for the lakhs of students who appeared for this exam is now over. This time, over 11.21 lakh students have qualified for admission to medical, dental, AYUSH, and other undergraduate medical courses. Notably, girls accounted for the largest share of successful students. Candidates who took the exam can download their scorecards from the official website – neet.nta.nic.in.
**Around 20 lakh students took the exam**
The NEET UG 2026 re-examination was conducted on June 21 across 5,440 centers located in 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. The exam was held in 13 languages, with approximately 20 lakh students participating.
**Girls dominate among successful students**
Girls have performed exceptionally well in this year's results. According to the NTA, girls make up more than 58 percent of the total successful candidates. Approximately 56.8 percent of the female candidates who appeared for the exam succeeded, while the pass percentage for boys stood at around 55.1 percent.
**Two students topped with 715 marks**
The highest score in the exam this time was 715 out of 720. Aryan Gupta from Punjab and Panshul Bansal from Haryana jointly achieved this feat. A total of 138 candidates scored above 690 marks. Of these, more than 93 percent were first-time NEET takers, and the majority were aged between 17 and 19 years.
**How many students achieved high scores?**
According to NTA data, 19 students secured more than 700 marks, while 1,492 candidates scored 650 marks or higher. Meanwhile, over 10,160 students scored 600 marks or more, while 90,780 candidates secured 500 marks or higher.
**Highest number of successful candidates from Uttar Pradesh**
Candidates from all 36 states and union territories of the country have passed the exam. The highest number of successful candidates—over 1.7 lakh—are from Uttar Pradesh, whereas 43 students from Lakshadweep have qualified. State-wise toppers include Jigmet Yangchen Lamo from Ladakh (530 marks), Dhruv Tripathi from Andaman and Nicobar (606 marks), and Fahmida Anees from Lakshadweep (573 marks). Toppers from 17 states have secured 700 marks or more.
**How many candidates qualified by category?**
According to the NTA, the highest number of successful candidates (5.12 lakh) belong to the OBC-NCL category. Additionally, 2.91 lakh candidates from the General category, 1.59 lakh from the Scheduled Caste (SC) category, 95,026 from the EWS category, and 63,716 from the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category have passed the exam. Thousands of candidates from the PwBD and PwD categories have also succeeded.
**Medical admission process to begin now**
Following the declaration of results, the admission process for medical colleges will now commence. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct counseling for the 15 percent All India Quota (AIQ) seats for MBBS and BDS, while the counseling agencies of the respective states will complete the admission process for state quota seats.
