As preparations for the Kanwar Yatra in Uttar Pradesh ramp up, law enforcement has begun to impose stricter regulations on DJ operators. The Muzaffarnagar police have issued notices to these operators, clearly warning them to adhere to sound limits and vehicle height regulations without exception. Authorities have indicated that failure to comply with these rules could result in severe actions, including the confiscation of equipment.

On Friday, the Superintendent of Police, Amrit Jain, informed reporters that the police have identified at least 348 DJ operators from various regions, including Delhi, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Noida, and Haryana's Sonipat, Faridabad, and Karnal. Notices are being sent to all identified operators to ensure they follow the standards and guidelines set for the Kanwar Yatra.

This initiative by the police is primarily aimed at ensuring the safety of the Kanwar pilgrims. The annual pilgrimage will commence on July 30 and conclude on August 11. During this period, devotees from Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, and western Uttar Pradesh will travel to Haridwar to collect Ganga water, which they will then use for rituals at local Shiva temples.
