Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to embark on a three-day extensive tour of West Bengal from July 17 to 19. This visit marks his first major trip to the state following the historic victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the recent assembly elections, which led to the formation of the party's first government in West Bengal.
During his stay, Shah will engage in high-level discussions on critical topics such as border security, governance, law and order, and the state's development.
On July 18, he plans to visit the Jumagachh border post in Siliguri, where he will interact with personnel from the Border Security Force (BSF).
Sources indicate that he will inaugurate and lay the foundation for various BSF development projects. Additionally, he will preside over a meeting addressing border-related issues concerning West Bengal later that day.
Shah will also review the implementation of three new criminal laws in the state. As part of his busy agenda, he will lead a meeting on birth and death registration topics in West Bengal on Saturday evening.
The following day, he will arrive in Kolkata to assess the law and order situation in the state during another meeting. Furthermore, Shah will inaugurate the first phase of the 'Museum of Words' at the National Library located in Alipore and lay the foundation stone for Amul Dairy's yogurt processing plant at the 'Bishwa Bangla Convention Center' in Kolkata.
