Patna: Another important project is progressing rapidly towards strengthening road connectivity in Bihar. Preparations to develop National Highway-139 (NH-139) into four lane have been intensified. After the completion of this project, commuting between Patna, Arwal and Aurangabad is expected to become smoother, safer and faster than before. Necessary processes are being expedited at the level of officials to start the construction work.
The project gained momentum
The progress of the project was reviewed in a recent meeting held between the Union Road Transport Ministry and National Highway officials. To ensure that there is no delay in the construction work, emphasis has been laid on completing the Detailed Project Report (DPR) and other formalities soon. The aim is that after getting all the necessary approvals, the construction work can be started soon.
Preparation to remove trees and electric poles
The work of removing obstacles coming in the way of four-lane construction has also started. The trees present on the roadside are being surveyed and the process is being taken forward from the Forest Department for necessary permission. At the same time, preparations are also being made to shift the high tension lines and electric poles in coordination with the electricity department, so that the construction work can continue without interruption.
Focus on Daudnagar and Arwal bypass
Under the project, the proposed bypass in Daudnagar and Arwal is also being given priority. The process of land acquisition for these bypasses has been expedited. Officials aim to complete the land formalities on time, so that the construction of the main road and bypass can proceed in parallel.
Complete survey of flyover and underpass will be done
To make the journey more safe and convenient, a technical survey of the entire route is being conducted. During this time it will be decided at which places flyovers, underpasses or footover bridges are required. This will reduce the chances of accidents and traffic will also flow better.
What will be the benefit to people from this four lane road?
With the four-laning of NH-139, travel time between three major districts will be reduced. Along with getting relief from the problem of traffic jam, transportation of goods will also speed up. Better road connectivity is also expected to boost trade, industry and local employment opportunities. Apart from this, investment and development prospects in the region will also be strong.
