Mumbai (Maharashtra) [भारत]July 16 (ANI): Durga Prasad Dalai, founder, director and creative head of Ally Animations, has issued a statement after the Orissa High Court stayed the release of the animated film 'Mahaprabhu Jagannath'. He said the film has been made with "honesty, devotion and devotion" towards Lord Jagannath and the makers have approached the Supreme Court for relief.
The film was made with devotion and honesty: Dalai
In an official statement, the Dalai said that 'Mahaprabhu Jagannath' is an extension of the animated series 'Jai Jagannath' and was created with the intention of celebrating faith, culture and devotion. "'Mahaprabhu Jagannath' is an extension of our animated series 'Jai Jagannath', made with utmost honesty, integrity and devotion for Lord Jagannath and his devotees. The film is a heartfelt portrayal of a devotee's feeling (devotion) towards Mahaprabhu Jagannath, and we make no claims other than that," the statement said.
The producer said that the team respects the sentiments of the devotees and hopes that the audience will get a chance to watch the film. He further added, "We deeply respect the sentiments of every devotee and every person following the path of Lord Jagannath. We just hope that the audience gets a chance to watch the film and decide for themselves."
Expressing hope that the film reaches out to families and children, he further said, "On this Rath Yatra, it is our wish that this film reaches out to children and families and brings them closer to knowing more about Lord Jagannath and imbibing the culture and values. We have made this film putting our heart and soul with the pure intentions of celebrating faith, culture and devotion."
'U' certificate from CBFC, now Supreme Court's stance
Dalai also said that the film has received 'U' certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in Hindi, Odia and Telugu. "The film has received a 'U' certificate from the CBFC in Hindi, Odia and Telugu and we have filed a review petition before the Honorable Supreme Court. Since the matter is still sub-judice, we will refrain from making any further comments and have faith in the judicial process," the statement said.
The statement concluded with "Salutations to Lord Jagannath". (ANI)
