Backups are a huge headache.
Sometimes old photos or files need to be removed for storage.
WhatsApp to launch its own cloud storage service
Nowadays WhatsApp has become a part of everyone’s life. From private chats to workplaces, many things depend on this one app. So backup is equally important for chats, photos, videos and documents accumulated over the years. But often this backup itself becomes a headache for us. Even after running out of space in Google Drive or iCloud, you often have to buy new storage. Meanwhile, it’s time to delete some old files or photos.
But now this problem can be reduced soon. Because it has been reported that WhatsApp is preparing to bring its own independent cloud storage service. This means that in the future there will be no need to completely rely on Google Drive or Apple iCloud to backup chats.
According to the information received, this new facility is likely to be launched first for iPhone users. Currently, the free iCloud space provided by Apple is limited, forcing many users to pay monthly for additional storage. This cost may reduce to some extent once the new service of WhatsApp is launched.
It is rumored that initially every user can get around 2GB of free cloud storage from WhatsApp. For those who have less backup, this space may be enough. However, for those who have thousands of photos, videos and large amounts of chat data, the company is also preparing to introduce a paid plan.
As per preliminary information, around 50GB of storage can cost around Rs 80 to 85 per month. Apart from this, larger plans of up to 1TB are also likely to be available for users who store more data. Final prices are subject to change upon official announcement by the company.
WhatsApp Central government break! Until the discussion is over…
The most important part of this new service is security. WhatsApp is preparing to offer end-to-end encryption in its cloud backup by default. That means your backup of chats will be safe, and no one else can see it unless you give the right permission. Users can secure their backups with the help of passwords, passkeys or special encryption keys.
Interestingly, the option to use Google Drive or iCloud will not be completely closed. Those who want to use the old method can continue to do so. But the new cloud service will be available as an additional option. So every user can choose the right option according to their needs.
WhatsApp Update: Users wait is over! Now share number for chatting…
It has been reported that this feature is currently in the testing phase. It is in the works for both Android and iPhone platforms. The feature is likely to roll out to all users in a phased manner after an official announcement from the company. If this change becomes a reality, WhatsApp users will have a lot less storage worries. Especially for those who are constantly running out of space on their phones or have to shell out extra money for cloud storage, this feature can definitely come in handy.
