Juventus are reportedly preparing a move for Tottenham Hotspur attacker Richarlison as part of their plan to strengthen their forward line ahead of the new season. The Brazilian international has become a serious option for the Turin club following advanced discussions between the two sides about several transfer possibilities.

Talks underway between Turin and London

The working relationship between Juventus CEO Giovanni Carnevali and Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi is said to be driving significant transfer activity. The two, who previously collaborated at Sassuolo, have maintained regular contact in recent weeks. Although initial conversations revolved around other potential signings, reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport suggest that Richarlison’s name has now been added to the list as a realistic target for Juventus.

Richarlison’s current contract with Tottenham Hotspur is due to run until June 2027, but with no progress toward an extension, the north London club are understood to be open to selling him before the end of the summer window. A transfer fee in the range of €20 million to €25 million could be enough to convince Spurs to part with the former Everton forward, paving the way for a move to Serie A.

Striker options and priority targets

While Juventus are seriously considering Richarlison, who scored 12 goals last season, he is seen primarily as a high-calibre backup option. The club’s main focus continues to be Randal Kolo Muani. The French striker, who previously played for Juventus and Tottenham, remains the top candidate to lead the attack. However, discussions with Paris Saint-Germain have been challenging, as the Ligue 1 champions are holding out for a higher fee.

Carnevali has tabled an offer of around €40 million for Kolo Muani, but PSG are demanding approximately €50 million. If those negotiations fail to progress, Richarlison tops an alternative shortlist that also includes Atletico Madrid’s Alexander Sorloth and AS Monaco and USMNT striker Folarin Balogun. Richarlison’s ability to operate across the frontline is seen as a key advantage by Juventus and aligns well with De Zerbi’s tactical approach.

Competition for the goalkeeping position

Transfer talks between Carnevali and De Zerbi have also included discussions about Guglielmo Vicario. The Italian goalkeeper faces an uncertain role at Tottenham following the arrival of Martin Dubravka, and Juventus are eager to bring him back to Serie A. Vicario is currently viewed as the leading domestic option to become the new number one in Turin next season.

Nevertheless, Juventus continue to monitor other goalkeeping targets. The club remains strongly linked with Argentina’s World Cup-winning goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, though Aston Villa have been firm in their stance. Reports indicate that Martinez is keen on a move to Italy despite Villa’s insistence that he will stay. The Birmingham-based side have reportedly valued him at €12 million, while Juventus have so far offered around €6.5 million, leaving the two clubs far apart in negotiations.

Tactical direction at the Continassa

Juventus appear intent on taking advantage of unsettled Premier League players to add experience and quality to their squad. In this context, the pursuit of Richarlison reflects their strategy to secure seasoned international talent at a reasonable cost. At 29 years old, the Brazilian offers a different profile compared to some of the club’s younger targets, but his energy, determination, and adaptability are seen as ideal attributes for Serie A football.

With the Kolo Muani situation still unresolved, the next few days could be decisive for Juventus’s summer transfer plans. Whether it results in the return of the French striker or a value signing for Tottenham’s Brazilian forward, the Bianconeri are determined to deliver a major attacking addition before the transfer window closes.
