There is great news for lakhs of teachers and employees of Basic Education Department of Uttar Pradesh. On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Basic Education Department in collaboration with State Bank of India (SBI) has started a wonderful scheme. The main objective of this initiative is to provide better banking facilities, insurance cover and social security benefits to teachers and departmental contractual employees. Additional Chief Secretary Partha Sarathi Sen Sharma has issued instructions in this regard to all the District Magistrates and District Basic Education Officers (BSA) that this scheme should be implemented at the ground level as soon as possible.
Who will get the benefit of this mega scheme?
This scheme covers teachers and employees from every section of the society. This includes permanent teachers and employees getting a salary of Rs 10,000 or more. Apart from this, contractual workers like Shikshamitra and part-time instructors getting honorarium more than Rs 10,000 will also come under its purview. The biggest thing is that even the contractual employees getting less than Rs 10,000 as honorarium will not have to be disappointed; They just have to open a zero balance account in SBI, after which they will also become a part of this security cover.
Insurance cover with account
Under this agreement, employees opening a zero balance account will get a personal accident insurance cover of Rs 2 lakh. At the same time, other eligible employees will be provided various banking and social security facilities through State Government Salary Package (SGSP) and Corporate Salary Package (CSP). If a permanent employee already has an account with SBI, then he will have to convert his account into SGSP. At the same time, those having accounts in other banks will have to open their salary account in SBI. To simplify this entire process, SBI teams will work by organizing camps in schools, so that there is no hindrance in the teaching-learning process.
List of 30 thousand surplus teachers ready
Meanwhile, the Basic Education Department has taken another big step and released the list of surplus teachers. In compliance with the instructions of the High Court, about 30 thousand teachers have been marked surplus in 75 districts of the state, which includes 19 thousand primary and 11 thousand upper primary teachers. On this basis, teachers will now be adjusted within the districts. If any teacher has any objection to this list, then they can present their views in the High Court through their advocate till July 17.
