Railway Scouts and Guides Quota Recruitment 2026: There is good news for young people associated with Scouts and Guides who are preparing for a career in the Railways. Central Railway has announced recruitment for 12 posts under the Scouts and Guides quota for the year 2026-27. The online application process began on July 13, and candidates can apply until August 12, 2026.

This recruitment drive is open to candidates from all categories, and there is no provision for separate reservations for specific communities. Appointments will be made for Level-1 and Level-2 posts.

Who can apply?
Nationality
Candidates must be citizens of India, Nepal, or Bhutan. Additionally, Tibetan refugees who arrived in India before January 1, 1962, and persons of Indian origin who migrated from certain specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India are also eligible to apply. Such candidates must possess an eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India.

Educational Qualification:
For Level-2 posts:
Candidates must have passed the 12th standard or an equivalent examination with at least 50% marks.
The 50% marks requirement does not apply to SC, ST, and Ex-servicemen candidates. Candidates who have completed their matriculation along with an NCVT or SCVT-recognized ITI course, or a Course Completed Act Apprenticeship, are also eligible to apply.

For Level-1 Posts:
Candidates must have passed the 10th standard.
Additionally, candidates holding an ITI qualification or a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) issued by the NCVT are also eligible.

Typing-related Requirement:
Candidates selected for the post of Clerk-cum-Typist must achieve a typing speed of 30 words per minute in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi within two years of their appointment.

Essential Qualifications related to Scouts & Guides:
This qualification is mandatory for both Level-1 and Level-2 posts.

Candidates must be holders of the President’s Scout, Guide, Rover, Ranger, or Himalayan Wood Badge (HWB).
Candidates must have been active members of a recognized Scouts organization for the past five years (i.e., since 2021-22).
They must have participated in at least two events at the National level or All India Railway level.
Additionally, they must have participated in at least two events at the State level.

Age will be calculated as of January 1, 2027.

Salary Details:
Selected candidates will receive the minimum basic pay corresponding to their pay level, along with other allowances as per Railway rules. Candidates will receive a stipend during the training period. Conditions regarding a security deposit and a bond may apply to certain posts.

No Interview
No interview will be conducted for this recruitment. However, candidates must secure a minimum of 40 percent marks in the written examination. Final selection will be made only after passing the medical fitness test conducted by the railway administration.
