Lucknow. The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a new initiative towards connecting the youth with employment and self-employment. On the occasion of World Youth Skills Day, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the biggest strength of the state is its young population and the government’s aim is to give a new pace of economic development by linking this strength with skills, technology and industries.
Skill-industrial zones will be developed in every district
Under the government scheme, skill-industrial zones will be developed in every district of Uttar Pradesh. MSME, skill development, vocational education and labor and employment departments will work together in these zones. Training programs will be prepared as per the needs of local industries, so that the youth’s chances of getting employment can increase once the training is completed.
Focus will be on new technologies and foreign languages
In view of the changing employment market, the government is now paying special attention to modern technologies along with traditional training. Courses to Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital technology and modern industrial skills are being promoted in ITIs and other training institutes. Apart from this, keeping in mind the increasing employment opportunities abroad, training in foreign languages like Japanese will also be made available to the youth.
Scheme to prepare youth who provide employment along with getting employment
The government says that its objective is not only to provide jobs, but to prepare such youth who will later establish their own enterprises and provide employment to others. For this, self-employment, startups and small industries are also being encouraged. A large number of youth are also being provided employment opportunities in the private sector through job fairs, campus placements and various training programs in the state.
